#1- WAIT!
And resist the urge to transition from crib to toddler bed as long as possible (I say, keep ‘em in there till there 16!) Because once the novelty wears off and they realize they can get out of bed and exit their room at will, then you have a much bigger issue at hand then the reason you transitioned out of the crib to begin with!
#2- Naps!
One nap a day is all a toddler needs, usually around 15-18 months. This nap on any xl twin over queen bunk bed in Big Sky Bunks ID should take place in the afternoon. Drop the morning nap. Just be sure you are not allowing this day sleep to go beyond 3PM. This will keep their sleep more restorative and in sync with their natural biological rhythms, protecting them from becoming overtired.
#3- Bedtime!
It’s important to understand that once your toddler transitions from 2 naps to 1, that
they can become easily overtired before 7PM. Just because they are no longer little babies, doesn’t mean they are old enough yet to enjoy a later bedtime. They are more schedule-sensitive than you think. If your child is fighting bedtime, waking up in the middle of the night, or getting up extra early in the morning, then dial that bedtime back 30 to 60 minutes for a few weeks and you should see a HUGE improvement!
